Do you wish you to spend less time working and more time doing whatever you want? These five tips might help you get more done in less time without sacrificing the quality of your work!
1. No interruptions
When you are working, ask others to not disturb you and avoid interrupting your work by doing something else. It takes some time to get in the right mindset for work and by interrupting your work, you are no longer focused and will have to get back into that mindset. This can end up making you waste a lot of time. If you must, tell others that you will be available during a certain period of time if they need anything from you so that you can plan ahead for an interruption.
2. When it’s too much, take a break
If you feel you are starting to work more slowly and your productivity is dropping, it might be time to take a break. Avoid thinking about what you were working on and focus on relaxing yourself. Do whatever is best for you, but avoid doing anything that is too engaging during your breaks or it might be hard to stay focused when you get back to work.
3. Don’t wait until the last minute
It is much better to do your work ahead of time. Not only can you plan ahead and work with less stress, but you will also make work that will be of a higher quality than if it is rushed in order to meet a deadline. You may not always be able to do it, but when you can, you should definitely not waste this opportunity.
4. Think about it while you’re not working
Knowing exactly what you are going to do can save you a lot of time. When you are not working or taking a break, try thinking about what needs to be done and how you are going to do it. You might come up with a brilliant idea!
5. Get it over with
If you are not already motivated about a particular project, try to do your best and finish it quickly so that you can get it over with. The sooner you finish it, the sooner you can do something else that might be more appealing to you.
