VoxSun knows that you need to be constantly connected, and to get you the best price, we provide you with the “BOOST”, that multiplies the capacity of your lines for free and is automatically based on your current needs. Most operators will charge you one line per user, therefore one line per extension, but this method of invoicing and resourcing is not suitable for today's businesses. That's why VoxSun allows you to subscribe to lines on one side and extensions on the other side to best meet your true needs and with a better rate and more flexibility.

An extension is simply the number that you have after a phone number that allows you to connect with other users of the same phone system.

Example: The main number of your company would be +1 514-600-0155 and you have 20 phones, therefore 20 users on your phone system. The receptionist would need to know where to direct a call from the main number to the first user. In this case, an extension or even a license must be assigned to each user’s telephone. Based on the example above, the automated receptionist could therefore forward calls to each user with extension numbers of your choice, for example, callers could dial '102' to speak directly to the user at that extension number. Therefore, if you have 20 users, you will need 20 extensions.

Cloud telephony, also known as IP telephony, VoIP or hosted IP telephony, uses Internet networks to transmit voice calls. This means that you no longer need a traditional analog copper phone line to make calls. It also means several benefits:

1. Efficiency, because you can have the same telephone system with a single main number with devices from the same telephone system distributed in several physical locations. Ex: 10 phones in Toronto and 20 in Montreal.

2. Unique features such as advanced call transfer, voice recognition, and many others, unified communication, call recording, advanced statistics.

3. The financial savings that this technology provides you with is significant, but you must ensure that you have a reliable supplier registered with regulatory agencies.

There are two ways of forwarding calls. You can either configure it on your IP desk phone or from the VoxSun portal as an incoming call rule. The advantage of configuring an incoming call rule is that you could also set it to follow a specific schedule, it ignores calls coming from a queue and it will also keep working even if your desk phone is disconnected or offline.

To configure call forwarding on your desk phone:

Press on the 'Menu' button on the screen. This is the fourth button from the left.

Navigate to 'Features', 'Call Forward' and then to 'Always forward'.

Use the right or left arrows on the phone to switch the 'Always Forward' option to 'Enabled'.

Use the down arrow to navigate down to 'Forward to' and type in the phone number to which you want the call forwarded to.

Click on 'Save' to save and enable call forwarding.

Call forwarding is now enabled. Whenever call forwarding is enabled, there will be an arrow at the top of your phone's screen to indicate that a forward is active and your desk phone won't ring.

To disable call forwarding:

If you are using a T46/T48/T54/T57 phone:

You can simply press on the forwarding arrow button on the bottom right of your phone to turn forwarding on and off. When you turn it on, it will use the last phone number that you configured for your forward.

Follow the same directions, but instead, set the Always Forward option to Disabled.

To enable call forwarding through the VoxSun portal:

1. Log in to the VoxSun Portal as an administrator or user.

2. Click on 'Extension' on the left sidebar.

3. Click on the blue underlined link of the extension for which you want to enable call forwarding for.

4. Click on the 'Incoming call rules' icon.

5. Within the call rules, add a new rule with the following parameters: Action: Transfer To, Number(s): Type in the phone number or extension.

6. Click on the 'OK' button to add the rule.

7. Create a second rule to transfer the caller to voicemail if the call is unanswered.

8. Click on the 'OK' button to finalize the setup.

You have now activated the call forwarding on your extension.

If you want to deactivate call forwarding, click on the green checkmark in the rules table on both rules to turn them to red 'X' icons.
